For over 30 years, they've been creating fashion, interiors, and products that challenge convention while honoring Scandinavian design heritage. What is the secret? Every project begins the same way: we listen, we observe, we question.Whether we’re designing a custom ILMIÖ carpet for a commercial or residential space, or consulting on a brand’s product development, our process is grounded in understanding the real need behind every brief.
We have studied materials for over 30 years with care and curiosity. We are able to prototype by hand. We test in real conditions and refine until the solution feels natural — clear, purposeful, and enduring. The result is design that feels obvious in hindsight, as if it was always meant to be that way.
This thoughtful, hands-on approach has guided our work for over three decades, and it’s why clients continue to return.

LUSTWEAR was an internationally recognized fashion brand renowned for its fun, functional solutions, perfectly fitted garments, and products built to withstand both time and heavy use. Known for its innovative in-house printing techniques, Lustwear created unique and enduring designs that stood out in the market. LUSTWEAR collaborated with leading brands such as Lisn, Iittala and Finlayson, and received acclaim in design competitions for its creativity and craftsmanship. Lustwer was founded and run by designers themselfs.
In 2010, Maikku Mettinen had the greatest idea, transforming the way we think about carpets. Together with Hammi they immediately built the concept, designed, produced, and sold the carpets themselves. This is a true example of innovation: aesthetically pleasing, functional, and almost everlasting design. Their space tailored rugs guide the space, appear exactly where needed, and disappear where they aren’t, reflecting a unique combination of vision, craftsmanship, and practical problem-solving.
In 2010, sisters designed a yoga apparel collection for Studio Yin, which continues to receive praise for its design, comfort, fit, timeless design and lasting quality.

Orginally created by Maikku Mettinen for personal use. This very limited edition piece is now released for a wider audience, designed, handmade, and printed in Finland.
